A fabulous dinner with a 1.5lb lobster as the main entrée was enjoyed by patrons throughout the River Region that purchased over 550 lobsters to benefit MACOA and Meals On Wheels. The 16th Annual Maine Event coordinated by Chacolby Burns-Johnson, MACOA Development Coordinator, successfully raised nearly $17,000 through this special “Claws For A Cause” community event fundraiser. 

On Friday afternoon August 21st, MACOA Board members, staff, and volunteers distributed pre-ordered lobsters fresh from Maine, live and steamed, via drive-through pick up service at two convenient locations at MACOA downtown and the future home of MACOA in East Montgomery.  MACOA partnered with the Capital City Club and was pleased to introduce Wynlakes Golf & Country Club as a new option this year.  Both restaurants provided gourmet fine dining to include delicious sides and dessert to accompany the delicious lobster seafood delicacy. 

We are pleased this charity benefit provided an opportunity for friends, families, and neighbors to gather in celebration over food, fun, and fellowship in support of a great cause to benefit Seniors in our community!
